Engelberg: Sun, Snow and Fun

Engelberg is a leading resort in central Switzerland lies just half hour car ride from the famous city and lake of Lucerne and one hour from Zurich city. There is no limit to the number of sports on offer in Engelberg. Hiking paths, Rotair cableway, swirling powder snow, 24 different cableways, 82 kilometres of skislopes, winter hiking paths and cross-country tracks, and golfing are all ready for guests visiting the area in summer and winter. Engelberg host major summer and winter events and is recently catering for local and international companies as an event destination for training purposes due to its charm, its climate conditions and its impressive mountain panorama.

The SIU Engelberg campus is located within two large well-known operating hotels of long tradition, Hotel Europe and Hotel Bellevue. Students live and learn in a real-life environment. During their stay, students will be involved in applying their knowledge in operational and supervisory activities as part of the learning process. All classrooms, technical and teaching facilities for theory and practical classes are housed in the two hotels.

A quality education which will train students in all the needed skills to prepare them for a successful career in a highly competitive industry.

The structure of the academic program achieves this by combining management theories with practical experience using innovative technologies in teaching and training. The combination of 15-week academic term followed by 15-20 weeks paid internship allows both the theoretical and practical aspects of hospitality to be developed and enhanced.
