Objective

Programme: subjects and activities

Year 1 - Foundation Phase
In the foundation phase you will become acquainted with the ins and outs of a company. You will receive more insight in company processes, various management styles, the management of financial means and materials, and you will gain a better understanding of clients of the organizanisation. During the first year, you will focus on the core activities of International Office-Management. The subjects that you will be exposed to are the following: communication and comununication skills, the company and its surroundings information and communication technology (ICT), economics, research methods and law.

Year 2 and 3 - Main Phase
In the main phase, you will develop from department head to manager. You will start at the middle management level. In this phase you will translate the knowledge of the foundation phase to management duties, problems and theories. The objective is to receive a better understanding of organisational management. You will supervise the first year’s International Office-Management students within the programme’s practical department. In the last part of the main phase the management tasks within a strategic level are dealt with. In this phase the focus will be on your managerial capacities and your management vision. During the practical modules you will be the manager of a department within the practical department.

Year 4 - Graduation Phase
In the graduation phase of your studies you will be exposed to the various aspects of a management position. You may decide according to your own preferences how the phase is structured. You may develop your speciality or practise your theoretical knowledge. There are many optional modules to choose from. Or you may decide to be an exchange student and go abroad, or gain employment experience. You will also have to complete a traineeship, write a final paper, and conduct research.

Career Options in Office Management
The position of office manager may best be described as that of the anchor-man or woman of an organisation. The office manager is the appropriate person to oversee (a part of) the internal organisation. He or she has to make sure things run smoothly, whether it is ICT purchasing, telecommunications, finances, technical support and/or the administration. Employment opportunities are available as:

  • Project manager,
  • Head Internal Organisation,
  • Head Service Centre,
  • General Assistant,
  • Assistant to the Manager.

  • High School Diploma from an accredited institution or secondary education; Associate Degrees, Diplomas, or BA in economics and non-economics fields.
  • TOEFL score 550 or IELTS 6.0
  • Submit typewritten Motivation Essay (300-400 words) answering 5 given questions
  • Submit Curriculum Vitae (CV) or Resume containing clear overview of education and work experience
