This programme deals with world-wide processes of development and change with emphasis on rural areas, agro-food chains and the management of the natural environment. The programme focuses on transformation processes in a dynamic international context. In developing countries rural society are increasingly linked to the globalisation processes. This programme approcahes the study of
social economics, political, technological, and environmental change from local and global perspective. It offers students to combine insights from defferent fields.
Student can choose from three specialisation offered by the programme (depending
on previous education):
Sociology of rural development
Economics of rural development
Communication, technology and policy
Admission Requirements:
BSc or BA with general background in the social sciences (ex.
sociology, anthropology, communication) or economics background. Basic
knowledge of a domain within the life science is an asset.
