The Institut de Touraine goes back a long way. While solidly based in the present, it is heir to a rich past. The simple summer school which was created in 1897, and which became the Institut d'Etudes Francaises de Touraine in 1912,acquired over the years a sound experience in teaching.

Its lively atmosphere is particularly to be felt in its pedestrian area only a minute away from the Institute.
